The next two stops will be Harwich and then Lowestoft, if you see the boat please come down and say hello. Fingers are now permanently crossed for good weather!!

Medway Barge Match 2008
01/06/08 Yesterday was the 100th Medway Barge match on the River Medway, I had sailed Padiwak to Chatham the night before and the next day dawned rather disappointingly windless but there was still a good turn out with the river packed with spectator boats. It was a great to see all of the barges together, for more information please look at;  www.medwaybargematch.co.uk

An American supper quiz night event was held on the 15th of March at Hampton Primary School in Herne Bay. The event was kindly organised by Hampton Pier Yacht Club members and hosted by the school. We had an excellent turn out with well over 150 people attending.

With lots of kind donations from local businesses we had a large array of raffle prizes. Altogether we raised £1655.00 all of which will go to charity. This is a fantastic amount and I would like to thank everyone for coming, for the donation of raffle prizes but mainly to Lee and Ann Gannon for organising the event.  To see some photos from the evening have a look in the Events Gallery here Click Here

Sail-the-dream American Supper
14/03/08 I was kindly offered to participate in a Day Skipper course run by the Sea Cadets on their Tradewind 35, TS Vigilant. We had an excellent weeks sailing around the Solent despite some not very nice weather. A special thanks to Mike Ablett (skipper) and the Sea Cadet Offshore section for allowing me to take part. For more information on the sea cadets please visit:  http://seacadets.ms-sc.org/

06/02/08 I presented Sail-the-dream to Hill Head SC in Hampshire, it is the club which the previous owner of Padiwak sails at. The boat is quite well known at the club so it was good to inform the club members of what she is doing. There was a good turn out and all of the sponsorship forms went! I will be stopping off at the club during the trip, Hill Head SC website is; www.hillheadsc.org.uk
